I.   THE PERSON OF GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

                                      A.   THE DEITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

                                                1.   THE ATTRIBUTES OF DEITY

SOVEREIGNTY:

                 The divine prerogative by which all things have been assigned their absolute respective places in creation.  Divine Volition.  Self determining.  Absolute will. 1 Cor 12:3; 1 Cor 12:11; Job 26:13; Isa 48:16; Mark 1:12;

RIGHTEOUSNESS:

The source of all divine good in the universe. Intrinsic, uncreated, untarnishable, absolute perfection. Rom 1:4; John 16:7-8; Eph 5:9

JUSTICE:

Absolute fairness and authority over creation. No favoritism.  Impossible for Him to be unfair. Rom 1:4; John 16:8; John 16:11

LOVE:

Perfect and unfailing source of all compassion and affection. Gal 5:22; Rom 5:5; Rom 15:30

ETERNAL LIFE:

God, being the Author of time, is in no way constrained by it.  There has never been, and there will never be a time when He did not or will not exist. No beginning.  No ending. Heb 9:14; John 6:63; John 14:16; Gal 6:8

OMNISCIENCE:

He comprehends all things - past, present, and future - He knows the possible as well as the actual. 1 Cor 2:10; 1 Cor 2:11; 1 Cor 2:14; Rom 8:16; Rom 8:26; 1 Tim 3:16; John 14:26; 16:12-13.

OMNIPRESENCE:

God, being the Author of space, is in no way constrained by it.  He is everywhere present at the same time - ubiquitous. Psalm 139:7-10; Rom 8:9; Eph 2:18-22.

OMNIPOTENCE:

Infinite power. The divine ability to bring a universe into existence out of nothing, by volition alone.  God said, "Let there be light: and there was light." Acts 1:8; Micah 3:8; Zech 4:6; Rom 15:13; Rom 15:19; Eph 3:16; Eph 3:20; 1 Pet 3:18; Gen 1:2ff; Luke 1:35.

IMMUTABILITY:

He is not capable of or susceptible to change, either by increase or by decrease, by development or by self-evolution. He is unchangeable, invariable, and permanent in His character. Heb 6:17; Heb 6:18.

VERACITY:

He cannot lie. His disclosures may be depended upon with plenary certainty. His Word is Absolute Truth. John 16:13; John 14:17; John 15:26; Acts 5:1-11; 1 John 5:6; Eph 5:9.

FAITHFULNESS:

He can be relied upon to fulfill His promises. Gal 5:22 ("faith" = "faithful")
