Death Of A Pastor-Teacher

1. Doctrine goes on in spite of the death of a great Christian.

2. Peter says that after he dies, doctrine will go on forever. 2 Pet 1:12-21.

3. Therefore, it isn't the man, but the message.

4. Men will come and men will go, but the Word of God abides forever. 1 Pet 1:24-25.

5. Peter was a pastor. The greatest thing a pastor can do for his congregation is to communicate Bible Doctrine.

6. If the pastor has fulfilled his function, his departure will not upset the stability of the congregation.

7. Believers must depend on Doctrine rather than on any outstanding (or apparently outstanding) personality.
